Wednesday Wishes. Dexter Edition

Dexter's wish this Wednesday... More space please!

He actually does really enjoy the sisterly love.

Check out this outfit pairing by Adeline. She's really latched onto the trend of mixing patterns this season.

Wednesday Wishes. Kicks.

Nike LunarFly+ 3 Women's Running Shoe

Mud Run this Sunday. That means that my current kicks will be one hot mess. That is fine by me. I have worn them for way too long. I am super happy to see so many fun colors on the market these days. Don't get me wrong, I do care how they feel, but there it is equally important that they look pretty sweet too. Anyone have any good suggestions out there? Any shoes you can't run with out?

kiddos. puff love

Oh the magic of puffs. This baby treat, with about zero calories, can keep this little boy occupied for about an hour! They have given me back the chance to sit down for a meal. Thank you Puffs.

Wednesday Wishes. Mother's Day

This weekend is the Mother's Day! For me, I thoroughly enjoy a day to relax and soak in some time with my family. Alex's has always done a great job at all the little details of the day. This includes sleeping in (8am is sleeping in for me!), homemade breakfast, no cooking for me, no cleaning for me, a sweet card from him, and an Addie original. He also manages to add a yummy treat or little gift in there too.

This year we will be at my Mom's house to celebrate with her. I love her dearly. I am so very thankful for her presence in my life. My Mom's family has a tradition of eating Giordano's Pizza on Mother's Day. What better way to celebrate than to have someone else make some AMAZING deep dish pizza for you. Yum!

How do you celebrate Mother's Day? Check out this super sweet idea from the one and only Martha...

Projects. Kitchen Bench

The bench is finished! We've been talking about this project for quite some time and we finally did it this week. We have a very small eating area in our house and wanted to maximize the space as much as we could. The bench is a great addition and I think it will help us out a ton!

The before shot with the trim removed.

The brains behind the bench.

This little gal was not too happy about all the noise that came with the bench construction.

The bench begins to take shape.

Painted and nailed in.

The finished product! Complete with a laminate cotton fabric back board. A great fabric for messy kiddos!  I love this Amy Butler fabric.

Addie & Dex enjoy being close to each other.

And Dexter likes his new matching back rest! I had to get 2 yards of fabric since the backboard is so long, but it left me with quite a bit of extra fabric. I am thinking of fashioning a new rain coat for Addie (her current one started to fall apart on our fishing trip) out of the scraps I have left.

We are really happy with the finished project. Home projects are really hard sometimes! Lots of time, juggling kids, money, and frustrations with our own mistakes. I am thankful for Alex working super hard on this project and taking the time to make it just right! Now we're on the hunt for a round pedestal table to complete the area.
